Founder of Frontier Diabetes

Meet Devin Brimhall.

I’m a clinical pharmacist and diabetes specialist who believes expert care should feel practical, personal, and easier to reach—wherever you live in Idaho.

Diabetes expertise without the lecture.

I’ve spent my career helping people with diabetes improve their control, understand their care, reduce medication costs, and minimize medication side effects. I have extensive experience managing type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and LADA, as well as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, chronic kidney disease, and heart failure.

I also have extensive experience with Dexcom and Libre continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps. I enjoy taking the complicated parts—glucose patterns, medication choices, pump settings, pharmacy requirements, and supply problems—and turning them into clear next steps.

During each visit, I try to identify one to three changes that can realistically fit into your life. Then I follow up, see what is working, and adjust the plan as needed. Everyone has different struggles, priorities, and goals, so your plan should be built around you—not around a generic checklist.

Frontier Diabetes was created to make this kind of focused care available throughout Idaho. Whether you are in Boise, the Treasure Valley, North Idaho, eastern Idaho, or a rural community with limited access to diabetes specialists, secure video visits let us work together from home.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two boys. We’re a family of board game nerds. Some of our favorites are Seven Wonders, Sushi Go, Alhambra, Beat the Heat, and Quacks of Quedlinburg, but we’re always open to suggestions. My boys and I play video games together just about every weekend, too. I’m also a big reader (technically, listener) and especially enjoy fantasy and science-fiction novels. Brandon Sanderson, James Islington, Brian McClellan, and Andy Weir are a few of my favorite authors. I wrestled from seventh through twelfth grade, and now I get to volunteer each week as a coach for my son's wrestling team. I absolutely love it.
